About me

Hi! I’m Jerry and I am a Math tutor. Mathematics has been my favourite subject since childhood and I love solving difficult problems. During college, I won the super brain contest and had the opportunity to visit NASA! If there is something that gives me joy besides solving Math problems, then it is to train students to master this subject. That is why, I started volunteering to teach high school students pro bono an NGO a few years back. Seeing the successes of my students there, I found my calling as a Math tutor. My objective is to show my students how to ace this subject and support them as they work with numbers.

Teaching Experience

I like to give individual attention to students and coach them to improve their Math skills. That is why I prefer one-on-one teaching. Here I can help students to identify their gaps in understanding, provide them conceptual clarity and motivate them towards consistent practice. To do this, I keep my sessions open and interactive. In fact, I focus more on supporting the students to come up with answers than spoon feeding them. With the learning goals in the mind, I also discuss with them how they can practice and then evaluate their progress. I use these techniques to help my students perform better in exams and I continue to explore better ways to help students who face challenges in this subject.
