University @ St. Leo University
Hi! I’m Keva and I teach Biology- the study of how various plants and animals live and function. I took up teaching Biology in college, and it was a perfect fit for me. I got the rare chance to teach school students of different grade levels. Helping them with the subject and seeing them do well gave me a sense of fulfilment as a teacher. And that is how I ended up becoming a full time Biology teacher. Switching to online teaching gave me a fresh opportunity at focusing on individual student’s growth. And I am loving every single moment of it.
Anatomy, Animalia, Basics of Cell Biology, Basics of Ecology , Basics of Genetics , Basics of Human Physiology, Biotechnology, Cell Biology , Ecology, Evolution, Genetics , Human Physiology , Immunology, Life Sciences, Living World
As a Biology tutor I need to illustrate a variety of life processes. Sometimes I explain through diagrammatic representation, the parts of a flowering plant, and at other times focus on the differences between Mitosis and Meiosis. I do not rush my classes as students need to keenly understand the underlying processes that are taking place within an organism. Learn these with me as I draw detailed diagrams on a digital Whiteboard or elaborate the flow chart of the processes in my classes. I know my job is done when my students learn and do well in their class.
Teaching about Science and the world around us. Topics such as : What is Science? Why do we need Science? How does Science help us in everyday life.
Topics such as: What is Biology? What are the Biotic and Abiotic factors of life. What are the different classes of Biology and how they differ from each other.
Teaching how all Body Systems are related and how they are different. For examples, how the respiratory system correlates with the circulatory system and how they differ from each other.
Teaching the differences between invertebrates and vertebrates and their different classes and how invertebrates and vertebrates differ from each other.
Teaching the different parts of a plant and describing the difference between monoecious and dioecious and perfect and imperfect plants. Teaching the different parts of the flower and their functions. Additionally, describing the difference between Gymnosperms (Cone-bearing plants) and Angiosperms (Flowering Plants). Furthermore, teaching the difference between the class of Angiosperms such as (Monocots and Dicots) Teaching about Plant- like Fungi and Protist like fungi and how they differ.
Teaching about Abiotic( Non- living) and Biotic (Living) Factors.
Teaching what is Ecology? Teaching about the 9 types of Biomes and how they differ from each other. Teaching about Food Chains and Food Webs.
Teaching about Mitosis and Meiosis and how they differ from each other. The different steps involved in Mitosis and Meiosis and their end result. Teaching about Monohybrid crosses and Dihybrid crosses and when each one should be used.
Teaching about the different body systems and how invertebrates and vertebrates differ from each other.
I was employed as a Staff Writer while attending University, so I have training on how to teach students how to plan and write a proper essay.
