1.THINK: WHAT NEW LIT THEORY LENS DO YOU THINK SHOULD EXIST? When preparing for this assignment, ask yourself the following ...

yourself the following to start planning your new theory: Is there a theory we studied that you disagree with? What about it do you dislike or wish to change? Why? Which theory would you want to expand further or alter to make it more inclusive of a certain group/culture/trend etc.? What topics in the media angers/upsets/excites/confuses you the most? While reading The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks and/or an essay from The Anthropocene Reviewed, were you particularly drawn to certain events/characters/settings/symbols etc.? What is your favourite genre of media? (i.e. novels, films, short stories/films, articles, TV shows, poetry, advertising, social media etc.) CREATE: Now use your brainstorming and knowledge of literary theories to create a new school of literary criticism and apply it to either Henrietta Lacks OR The Anthropocene Reviewed, and one other text of your choice. PRESENT: Design and create a multimedia presentation that incorporates words and images/graphics presenting your new theory. What kind of multimedia presentation should I create? E.g. a slideshow of 10-15 slides, a video no longer than 2 minutes, an infographic, an annotated painting/graphic design, magazine article/issue Your multimedia presentation must include the following: a unique name for your new theory a brief definition for your theory - types of questions to ask yourself when using your lens a brief rationale statement for your theory (rationale is basically why you believe this theory needs to exist and how it was inspired) an application of your theory to any piece of literature (novel, play, short story, fairy tale) or alternate media text (TV show, comic, advertisement, painting, film clip) **Note: You will have to summarize/introduce your choice of text (e.g. film clip, fairy tale, comic, painting etc.) before you apply your theory an application of your theory to one passage approx. 250 words long from The Great Gatsby. (not the passage you chose from Lit Theory Assignment #1) Complete the “Student Comments” part of the rubric (see below) evaluating your final piece Check out some Level 4 examples to get an idea of what a new theory and its application could look like for student selected texts. You will upload your final presentation to GC on the due date as shown on the class calendar. You will NOT have to present your final product to the class.

2.In the United States only 6.2% of physical therapists are Hispanic. In fact, the percentage of Hispanics working in any ...

nics working in any other health profession is similar. These figures can be discouraging to aspiring health care professionals that are Hispanic. The number of Hispanic health care professionals will inevitably continue to increase over the years and I want to be a representation for my community. I want the young aspiring Hispanic health care professionals in my community to know that someone just like them is capable of anything. I always knew I wanted to work in the health care industry ever since I was a kid. I always idolized doctors, dentists, nurses, etc. It has always been a dream of mine to end up working in a job where I can help people. It was not until my senior year of high school that I knew for sure I wanted to be a physical therapist. As I started thinking about what career path in the health care industry aligned the most to my hobbies; I concluded that physical therapy was the career I wanted to pursue. The reasons were simple, my favorite activity is going the gym, I like staying active, and I enjoy learning about the human body. During my first experience in a physical therapy setting, I was amazed that light resistance exercise can help someone recover from an injury or relieve chronic pain. Many of the patients I saw during my time were patients that recently got a knee replacement. The program the physical therapists created involved strengthening the leg muscles and supporting muscles of the lower body. It illustrates that exercise can be a form of medicine. I observed many patients during my observation hours, but one patient will always be in my memory. The patient was an older lady who broke down in tears of joy and said, "Today I woke up so happy because I had no pain." The way she said it warmed up my heart so much, I had an insane feeling of joy I never really experienced. That moment will always be something I think of when I need motivation to keep going. I want to relive that experience from the physical therapist's point of view one day.

5.Criteria for evaluation can change depending on the times, circumstance, and most importantly, with audience. This assignment will focus ...

audience. This assignment will focus on how criteria can change and how you need to tailor your essay to these changing audiences. In good times, people may want homes with soaring entryways, lots of space and premium appliances. In tougher times, they may care more about efficient use of space, quality insulation, and energy efficient appliances. When gas prices are low, people love to buy SUVs and trucks, but when gas prices get higher, they prefer hybrid cars with good fuel efficiency. Think of two scenarios, much like the ones above, where different audiences or different times create different criteria for evaluation. For example, what impact might global warming have on the way we determine desirable places to live or vacation? How might a changing economy change the way we view successful careers? If people across the globe continue to put on weight, how might standards of beauty change? Si i have this assignment for English I just don't understand it here is the assignment: Explore two scenarios in which change might revise customary values and standards for evaluation. Each scenario should be a paragraph of at least 100 words in length.

6.Honestly I don't even know where to begin... I'm 15 years old and I've been homeschooled all my life. A ...

. A few years back I kinda dropped the ball with school. If I didn't understand something, I gave up on it. Because of that I've been pretty behind for quite a while now, but this year I decided to change and become a better student. There's still a few things I'm not entirely great at, but out of them all math is one that I suffer from the most. Geometry hasn't been too hard up until now, but I never quite understood certain aspects of Algebra and my current Geometry lessons require some algebraic knowledge which is what I lack. I've tried doing it on my own but I don't understand things easily, Khan Academy is super helpful but most of the time, the amount of knowledge overwhelms me and I don't learn a thing from the video/lesson. I know this is not going to be a simple one and done fix, but I know that I can't just keep passing by without improving my math skills so that's why I came here. I don't know how this works or if it's even going to help, but right now I think it's worth the try. Thank you in advance.

7.Hello, I have a problem calculating probability for a certain thing that happened. I'll try and make it sound like ...

it sound like a math problem. The problem : What are the chances of a 4 sided die landing on 1 twice and on 2 twice out of 4 rolls. The solution I came up with originally was (2/4) x (2/4) x (2/4) x (2/4) . Which I realized was wrong as this allowed the die to land on 1 four times in a row. So then I came up with this soultion (which i still think is wrong) (2/4) x (2/4) x (1/4) x (1/4) . So the reasoning behind this is : The first roll obviously has a 50% chance to roll on either 1 or 2. Second roll is the same. BUT, lets say both of them land on 1, and now it HAS to land on 2 the remaining two times. So my problem is with the current solution that I have is what if the die lands on 1 on the first roll, then on two for the second one. then the third roll would still have a 2/4 AKA a 50% chance of landing on either one. I'm sure the last roll is 1/4 but I just dont know if the order matters on the rolls. This has been driving me crazy the last hour. Please help if you can thanks
