I started teaching soon after high school. Initially, I started by helping friends and fellow classmates and gradually moved on to teach their siblings, neighbours and other students. This enabled me to expand my abilities and gain experience. I found that teaching others not only made an impact on my students’ academic performance but strengthened my concepts as well and this motivated me to become a full-time tutor.
In my opinion, it is important to understand a student - their strengths, interests and weak points before preparing or implementing a lesson plan. This enables me to make my lessons interesting because I try my best to make them creative and use visual learning methods.
In a nutshell, I am passionate about teaching because I believe that the right support and encouragement goes a long way.
Aside from academics, I’ve been involved in a lot of extra-curricular activities during school and college. My main hobbies are swimming, reading books and watching shows on Netflix. I also enjoy practising yoga, meditation, spending time with my family and friends and occasionally volunteering at elderly homes and schools for the less privileged.
Science Basics: Before moving on to studying Science at an advanced level, understanding of the fundamentals is extremely important as it lays the foundation for application-based learning.
Physics: Chemistry is an interesting subject that answers questions and explains concepts at a molecular level. Chemistry is the underlying foundation that facilitates interaction between all fields of science. For instance, it is used in understanding biological systems and processes, the formation of new materials/compounds. From the food we eat, the vitamins and medicines that make us healthy, to the water and air we need to survive, chemistry forms the core of all processes.
