About Aaditya G.

Art in all forms have always interested me since childhood and it has kept me curious and creative. I first took to painting and love painting on fabric. My hobby later extended to carving, and now I extensively carve on chalk and soap, creating intricate sculptures that push the limits of the material. This reflects my attitude to try and be a better version of myself, every day. Apart from chemistry, my passion is music, especially Carnatic music, as it renders me ecstatic through its unique use of the octave, the lyrics and their rhyme. With an acute sense of smell and taste, I also love cooking. My culinary endeavors lets me continue experimenting, producing results others can enjoy as much I do.

Science Basics Chemistry Matter

Top subjects

Basic Operations: Being a chemistry student, I have always been in touch with fundamental mathematics to deal with physical chemistry. I also took two courses in advanced mathematics during the first year of my Bachelor’s. I tutor a few kids for free, informally, such as my neighbors, and thus keep all the concepts fresh in my mind.

Science Basics: I specialized in biology, chemistry, physics and mathematics during high school with an emphasis on the former. Dealing with students from various levels of education and my career in an interdisciplinary field ensures that I stay in touch with all the basic sciences.

Chemistry: My fascination for chemistry since high school has resulted in continued pursuit of the subject to the extent of pursuing doctoral level research in it. I studied general chemistry and worked on synthetic organic chemistry for my masters’ thesis, earning good grades consistently. I worked in Chegg Inc. as a MNE in Chemistry for the past three years and handle advanced chemistry courses for my teaching assistantship as a part of my PhD. This helps me put a practical spin to my teaching and overall, I teach chemistry the most. I have also conducted academic seminars during my masters’, participated in conferences, and presented my research works in them. These varied experiences have led me to appreciate the differences between presenting to an elite group and teaching students; teaching online and face-to-face as well as group and one-on-one tutoring, thus allowing me to express my ideas to suit a wide range of audiences.

Organic Chemistry: I worked on synthetic organic chemistry during my masters' and submitted the thesis on transformations of Baylis-Hilman adducts. For my Ph.D., I work on drug design, with an emphasis on organic chemistry and asymmetric synthesis.

Microchemistry: In my masters’ I specialized in drug design, development and synthesis which involved basic biochemistry. My doctoral research requires extensive use of biochemistry for its work at the interface of chemistry and biology so I am constantly learning the subject in greater depth. I would love to share my knowledge of this wonderful subject.

Teaching Experience

I have always loved sharing knowledge with everyone. I started teaching informally, when I was in middle school, and helped my cousins with their lessons. I, in turn, was taught by my elder brother, who is a faculty, with a knack for explaining concepts clearly, through everyday examples. I have based my teaching philosophy on that, and it has brought me success in helping a varied bunch of students – from underprivileged school children in an orphanage, whose only source of learning was their teachers’ lessons (no computer or Internet-assisted teaching there), to my juniors and classmates at the University. I find that I am able to assess their knowledge and their most preferred method of learning quickly, which helps facilitate their learning effectively. I also have a year’s worth of teaching experience as a TA in my PhD, handling advanced organic chemistry and medicinal chemistry courses, in addition to training graduates and interns in research techniques.
