I have worked as on Online English Instructor for several years for students in Latin and South America, and Seoul, South Korea. I teach individual and small group classes, consisting of students 13 years of age and higher, of all fluency levels. In the past, I was a Spanish Teacher in Minneapolis, Minnesota and and Houston, Texas. I was also an Associate Educator assisting Kindergarten teachers, and a Spanish Instructor for Community Education for several years. I student taught in a fifth grade classroom at El Colegio Internacional de Carabobo in Valencia, Venezuela. In 2011, I volunteered teaching English for a month in Panama at New Brighton English Center.
I earned a Master of Arts degree in Teaching from Hamline University in Saint Paul, Minnesota In addition to my MA, I hold: a Bachelor of Arts in Spanish from Bethel College, a certificate in Teaching English as a Foreign Language (TEFL), Minnesota State Teaching License (K12 Spanish), Texas State Teaching Licenses (EC12 Spanish, EC12 ESL Supplemental and 4-8 General education).
I enjoy reading and traveling. I've visited over 15 countries so far.
English: I have been teaching ESL online for over three years. I teach students of all ages and language learning levels. I enjoy helping student improve their conversation skills through communicative language practice. I love explaining grammar points.
Spanish: I began learning Spanish in 8th grade and never stopped. Spanish is a part of my everyday life. I know how essential it is to build vocabulary in context. I excel at teaching grammar and developing pronunciation.
