Microbiology: Microbiology deals with the study of micro organisms which cannot be seen to our naked eyes. Not only on earth, on other planets and heavenly bodies also scientists are looking for the exsistence of these micro but wonderful creatures. I have been in the field of Microbiology past eight years. My area of interest in Microbiology is Intestinal Microbiota. I always try to explore how the microbes in gut influence our body, immune system, gut-brain-axis, function of gastro intestinal tract and many more. How they are beneficial/harmful to us?
Biotechnology: the term "biotechnology" encompasses a wide range of procedures for modifying living organisms according to human purposes, through hybridization, cell culture, tissue culture, and genetic engineering. Through biotechnology it has been possible to meet the demand for food and also discovery & development of drugs/pharmaceutical product for better health.
Immunology: Immunology is a branch of science that deals with the study of immune system of all the organisms. Immune system is a host defense system comprising of several biological structures and process within an organism that confers protection against infections and maintains homeostasis. Microorganisms play an important role in regulation of immune system. Some of the microbes protects host by inducing activity against pathogens while some take a chance to break the defense and cause infection. Immunology is a very beautiful subject to study. It gives an idea how each part of our body defend pathogens to retain homeostasis.
